Model RFP Project Management

Project management begins with project planning before the court drafts the RFP and continues through the delivery of the final product, and often beyond. It is important that the court maintain continuity in project management through the life of the project. An important role of project management is to coordinate planning and project efforts between all of the project participants. Solid planning will make project management easier and make the entire procurement process more effective.

Project Record Keeping

It is important for government purchasers to document all aspects of major procurement projects from defining the need through project completion. Document the proposal evaluation and selection process including vendor contacts, such as vendor questions. The selection process documentation should include the selection criteria and the process used to evaluate vendor proposals. Additionally, the deciding factors should be documented. The entire procurement cycle should be documented, including issues and resolutions that occur during contract negotiations and project performance.
